First of all they coexist great together. I could have bought the 7A but I did not. I bought the pixel 7 because it's a little bit better but what they did was a great idea giving you a phone for a cheaper price or the closer flagship and it's a great phone. I also could have got a pixel 8A and I chose the pixel 7 over the 8A in the pixel 7 in the pics of 7A are still selling. Why the pixel 8 is out and once the pixel 8 becomes a year old I'll probably upgrade to it and that's how the consumer market works. Suburb people and the kids have to have a brand new iPhone every year and that it's not how it works. The phone is unaffordable when it first comes out, people will buy it more when it becomes a year old when it's more affordable

Got mine back in December 2023 for $350. Its an excellent 2 in 1 for entertainment, games. They are very cheaply made though. Dropped the last one I had and the whole screen instead of cracking, it just simply detached itself lol spent almost the same amount to fix bc of the OLED screen

I've just been reading your article on your website about falling traffic with the use of AI - people can get all the information they need without visiting the website itself and of course this could be a real killer for smaller businesses. But as a long term chromeos user I have a 2 observations about your business model. I think your youtube channel is fairly mediocre because it's all about reviewing products rather than 'how to videos'. When you look at the number of subscribers you have the number of views per video is fairly low so maybe others feel the same. Also on your website there have been occasions when I would have left a comment but won't do because you need to sign up to DIsqus which isn't going to happen. Shoot me down in flames if you want to but this is only a personal opinion.

Ironically, outside of literal pixels on the screen burning out, my OG still runs strong. Screen cracked early on, so I lost touchscreen capabilities fairly quickly and didn't think it was worth paying for a full screen replacement, but still functions well as a Chrome beast and Netflix/Prime player. Definitely has its glitches and sometimes struggles to turn on, but has lasted much longer than I expected.

What's the point of having a good processor and a good integrated card if you can't test them in games because they literally don't run anything on a chromebook? I'm a chrome os user and I bitterly regret having bought a chromebook, you'll know what I'm talking about when you have one.

I think chromebooks are solid for students. That's why Japan's GIGA program is shifting to chromebooks, especially to the ones powered by mediatek.

This video makes me want to grab the Chromebook for my regular usage!! Imagine having a Chromebook with a powerful MediaTek processor back in the day. I really impressed with the collaboration that Mediatek done with the Japan Giga program for the students.

How is this 2021 Samsung Chromebook 2 in 2024? I seen these as low as $299-$329 brand new. Used in excellent condition for as low as $150.

Robbie, for a thousand bucks that touchscreen had damn well better be sensitive to every touch without jabbing it. And as others have pointed out, 8 GB of RAM for a grand? Ridiculous. We just picked up the 516 GE with 16 GB of RAM for $600 on Amazon. And the i5 is plenty fast. I don't know what manufacturers are thinking with their inconsistent pricing and specs. Take a user who isn't familiar with all of the issues like dim vs bright screens and inconsistent specs/pricing/model numbers, and it's no wonder that a lot of people are in a state of total confusion when it comes to choosing a Chromebook. And the standard that these devices should be compared to vis-a-vis the keyboard, trackpad, and internals are devices like the Pixelbook Go. I've been using one for the past two years, and if there were anything out there with comparable specs at a similar price point, we would pick it up in a heartbeat. You even mentioned the Pixelbook Go's speakers. Well, it was released FIVE years ago, and it still blows away many, if not most, of the new devices.

I am very sad that Chrome Unboxed has decided to stop (or pause) making these types of videos. I really hope they return to the practice. Having said that. My ASUS C34 arrived yesterday. Chromebook plus, core i3, 8GB RAM, 128G storage... and this is a hexacore machine. No touchscreen and no backlit keyboard. This is my 4th ASUS Chromebook is 8+ yrs. I started w/ an ASUS C302 flip, which was 12"5 inches. I later upgraded to a ASUS C434, which was all aluminum built, a lovely machine. I later acquired an ASUS C54 with a stylus and a dedicated screenrecording button. All of those machines were 8GB RAM, Core M3, touchscreen and backlit keyboard. The ASUS C54 also has a little slide so you can close your webcam. I developed a system whereby I donate my "old" Chromebook to my daughter as I acquire a new one. I discovered that I really wasn't using touchscreen all that much and I don't need a backlit keyboard, so I opted for this one. Mine is a charcoal black and it says "Chromebook Plus" on the lid. It also says Chromebook Plus on the login screen. And yep it has a slide to close your webcam. The machine is superfast, much faster than all my previous models, great keyboard (I can hear myself type, it's much more sturdy), wonderful bright screen, good speakers/sound (I can watch movies, NBA Basketball without the need for a bluetooth speaker or headset). My only disappointment is that this machine doesn't have a microSD slot and I had gotten used to those on my previous machines. My ASUS C434 has now been wiped and will go to my lovely daughter. I then keep the C54 and this new one, the C34. I paid 399 euro's for this machine, but that's because it's a new model. If I had waited 6 mts to acquire it the price would have been 329-349 or something. If you don't require a touchscreen and/or backlit keyboard, I'd go for this one. The hexacore processor is amazingly fast.
